AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football senior defensive back Jahdae Barron was named the Texas Star of the Week for the East-West Shrine Bowl, game organizers announced on Tuesday. The honor is presented weekly to an all-star game eligible player from a Texas university that displayed the most NFL traits for the week.
Barron set the tone early in Texas' 34-24 win at Alabama, ending the Crimson Tides first possession with an interception at the Alabama 46-yard line and returning it 16 yards to set up the Longhorns' first score. The Austin native added four tackles (three solo) in the victory.
