Attempted comeback falls short in 6-5 Texas loss to Texas A&M

An inability to throw strikes or locate the ball effectively in the zone forced Texas Longhorns starting Citlaly Gutierrez out of Friday’s 6-5 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies at Red & Charline McCombs Field in the Austin Super Regional after facing just nine batters and a late comeback attempt fell short in the seventh inning.

“Obviously, I wish we could’ve been on the winning side of things, but I have to give credit to our team for not giving up and fighting back really hard. Also have to give credit to (Texas) A&M for taking advantage of some of our mistakes early on to get out to a good lead,” Texas head coach Mike White said.
