After consulting with more than 50 schools over decades, Chuck Neinas understands the things to do and avoid in any football coaching search.
When it comes to Texas' impending search, Neinas offered a preface to his analysis.
"First of all, I'm assuming Texas is just going to pick up the phone and call Tommy Herman," Neinas said of the Houston coach and front-runner by a wide margin to replace Charlie Strong.
Barring an improbable 180-degree turn by the Texas administration including President Greg Fenves and athletic director Mike Perrin, Strong's dismissal will be made official, decided in the aftermath of the overtime loss Saturday at Kansas.
