According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Austin American-Statesman, suspended Texas Longhorns linebacker Demarco Boyd was charged with assault with injury after he allegedly punched a driver who caused a multi-car accident.
On Thursday, Boyd was suspended indefinitely pending the completion of the legal process. The charge is a Class A misdemeanor.
The assault occurred during the afternoon of July 4 on Windsor Road when wet driving conditions caused a Jeep Wrangler to rear end a Chevrolet Camaro. Based on a tweet from cornerback Kris Boyd at the time, the car was driven by safety BJ Foster and also contained Boyd.
