AUSTIN, Texas — Even in the hostile confines of Kyle Field, a buzz went through the nearly 110,000 fans in attendance when Texas Longhorns redshirt freshman backup quarterback Arch Manning took the field against the Texas A&M Aggies for a 4th and 2 at the A&M 15-yard line with a little less than four minutes remaining in the first quarter and the game still tied 0-0.
Manning kept a zone read from a tackle-over formation to the field with H-back Juan Davis to his right and running back Jaydon Blue to his left, showing off his strength and contact balance into the boundary by running through a defender at the first-down marker and keeping his feet down the sideline long enough to dive for the pylon.
