After Big 12 title loss, Texas likely headed to Sugar Bowl; Alamo Bowl possible

More likely than not, Tom Herman’s second season on the Forty Acres will cap with a New Year’s Six bowl bid and the Texas Longhorns competing in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, despite a Big 12 Championship loss to the Oklahoma Sooners.

In fact, prior to Texas’ Big 12 Championship, Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said that “it’s a fairly clear outcome” that Texas will head to the Sugar Bowl, as reported by Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman.
