OTTAWA, Canada – Texas sophomore hurdlers Mariam Abdul-Rashid and Kirema Macharia both ran strong races on Saturday morning at the Canadian Championships to advance to their respective finals as they are vying for a spot on Team Canada at the IAAF World Championships.
Macharia opened the day with an easy win in his heat of the 400 meter hurdles to automatically advance to Sunday's final.
