Texas head coach Tom Herman has a strong depth chart heading into his second season with the Longhorns, one with extensive talent at numerous positions. But Texas' riches at certain spots complicate matters a bit for the coaching staff, creating a slew of position battles heading into fall camp.
So which positions are destined for a playing-time fight before the start of the 2018 season? Here are five candidates:
Quarterback
With all due respect to freshmen Casey Thompson and Cameron Rising, it should be a two-man race for the starting quarterback spot come opening day.
