1. Will a clear-cut starting quarterback finally emerge?
The betting money as to who Texas' starting quarterback will be has to be on sophomore Sam Ehlinger right now. Ehlinger has been taking the reps with the first-team offense so far in preseason camp, but junior Shane Buechele has also been getting reps with the starters.
This race is by no means over and a pivotal first scrimmage awaits on Saturday, but Ehlinger appears to have the slight edge. Texas also has good depth at the position this year with the additions of freshmen Cameron Rising and Casey Thompson.
