Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham School product Derek Stingley is arguably the nation’s top cornerback prospect, and now only three schools have hopes of adding him to their roster.
On Monday, the five-star defensive back announced his final three and following his weekend official visit to the Forty Acres, the Texas Longhorns survived the cut, along with the LSU Tigers and Florida Gators.
Stanford, Georgia and Michigan were previously named in Stingley’s mid-March top six, but neither of the three appeared to be a realistic landing spot in recent weeks.
Prior to this past weekend, there was a similar case to be made for the Longhorns.
