Earlier this week, SportsDay broke down five reasons for optimism about Texas Longhorns football heading into the fall. But that doesn't mean there aren't causes for concern with this team either.
Here are five reasons for pessimism surrounding the Longhorns heading into the fall:
1. Unproven backup quarterback play
Sure, Texas is clearly set at the starting quarterback position with Sam Ehlinger. But, as shown last season in two different games, one wrong hit is all it takes for the Longhorns to have to go to their backup. This year, Texas won't have the luxury of a battle-tested veteran like Shane Buechele, who is graduate transferring to SMU, on the depth chart.
