The 2022 recruiting class for the Texas Longhorns received a big addition on Wednesday with a surprise commitment from Denton Ryan defensive back Austin Jordan.
Jordan made his decision despite belief from the industry that Oklahoma was the favorite among his 20 total offers, which include Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and USC.
During June, the 6’0, 190-pounder official visits to Ohio State and Texas in addition to Oklahoma, but he never surfaced on the radar as a key target for the Longhorns despite his trip to Austin with much of the focus in the secondary on Galena Park North Shore star Denver Harris and Beaumont West Brook’s Bryce Anderson.
