Elite Houston Dekaney cornerback Marcus Banks has trimmed some of the fat in his recruitment.
On Sunday, Banks announced his top nine schools, and the Texas Longhorns survived the cut, along with Stanford, Texas A&M, Florida, LSU, Baylor, Notre Dame, Georgia and Alabama.
Banks holds 19 total offers and his cut left programs such as Oklahoma, Auburn, Arkansas, Michigan, Nebraska and Tennessee on the outside looking in.
A four-star prospect and former teammate of Longhorns tight end signee Malcolm Epps, Banks was originally scheduled to announce his commitment on March 3, but postponed following his trip to Austin for Texas’ Junior Day.
