The Texas Longhorns recruiting class took a hit late Wednesday evening when Port Arthur Memorial cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau announced his decommitment.
A consensus four-star prospect, Guilbeau received his offer from the Longhorns in February of 2020 and committed to former head coach Tom Herman and his staff last September.
As Texas struggled through the 2020 season, including the decommitment of star quarterback Quinn Ewers, Guilbeau publicly wavered with his pledge. But he initially stuck with it despite continuing to receive other offers.
When the dead period lifted in June, Guilbeau took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M and then an official visit to Austin that allowed him to meet with new head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff for the first time.
