Even despite multiple players battling foul trouble early, the Longhorns built up a nine-point lead at 27-18 with 5:04 left in the first half after a 3-pointer from freshman guard Courtney Ramey.
The Mountaineers were able to gather themselves a bit over the next few minutes and pulled within one at 29-28 with 2:25 left before the break.
