3 takeaways from Texas' 71-65 loss to Providence: Sluggish second half dooms Longhorns for third home loss

AUSTIN -- The Longhorns fell to Providence, 71-65, on Friday night at the Frank Erwin Center after a sluggish second half on the offensive end. It was Texas' third home loss of the season.

Here are three takeaways from Friday's game:

1. Very up-and-down first half for Texas

Texas had a painfully slow start offensively and didn't score in the game until sophomore point guard Matt Coleman III converted a layup until the 16:04 mark.

But the Longhorns slowly started to wake up thanks to timely plays by freshman guard Courtney Ramey and freshman forward Jaxson Hayes.
