AUSTIN -- The Longhorns cruised to a 71-59 win over Eastern Illinois in the 2018-19 season opener, as year four of the Shaka Smart era at Texas got underway Tuesday night at the Frank Erwin Center.

It was a sluggish start to the game for the Longhorns -- a little predictable, nonetheless. Texas struggled early from beyond the arc -- a department the program has been erratic in the past few years and something head coach Shaka Smart needs to see more consistency with.
