AUSTIN -- The Longhorns' upset bid of No. 8 Texas Tech fell just short on Saturday afternoon at the Frank Erwin Center, falling 68-62 to the Red Raiders. Texas is now 10-6 on the season and 2-2 in Big 12 play.
Here are three takeaways from Saturday's game:
1. Texas can't mount comeback in final minutes
This was a defensive battle for much of the first half, as both teams struggled make shots and finish plays on the offensive end. Texas Tech built an 11-9 lead at the 10-minute mark, then both teams started to wake up a bit on the offensive end over the final 10 minutes of the half.
