Only the Texas Longhorns could have enough pull in the Big 12 to get its own TV network over everyone else. The Longhorn Network is just one example of how far reaching the Texas fan base is across the United States. Its spans around most of the world too since the Horns are such a marketable athletic program.
Most of the fan base for Texas starts with the football program. However, there’s no doubting passion that Texas fans have for the basketball and baseball programs too. Texas basketball made a nice run to the NCAA Tournament last season, behind some talented players like center Mohamed Bamba.
