For the first time in five years, the Texas Longhorns will have a linebacker selected in the NFL Draft when DeMarvion Overshown hears his name called in Kansas City.
Recruited as a big-bodied, physical safety out of Arp in the 2018 recruiting class, Overshown was as a consensus four-star prospect ranked as the No. 52 player nationally and the No. 6 safety, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Overshown chose Texas over offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, among others.
Overshown played in nine games and made one tackle as a true freshman while dealing with a preseason knee injury that caused him to miss five games and then suffered a back injury in 2019 that caused him to miss four games.
