As the 2022 NFL Draft continues one of two former Texas Longhorns players with a legitimate chance of selection is kicker Cameron Dicker, a do-it-all standout for the Longhorns who handled place kicks, kickoffs, and punts as a senior.
A standout at Lake Travis, Dicker was recruited by former head coach Tom Herman in the 2018 recruiting class to end a post-Justin Tucker stretch of kickers that largely struggled. Remember Nick Rose missing the game-tying extra point to tie that wild loss against Cal in 2015? How about Charlie Strong publicly pleading for someone to send him a kicker, as if it wasn’t his responsibility to fix the problem?
