The Texas Longhorns added a kicker to the 2021 recruiting class as a preferred walk on with the Sunday commitment of Flower Mound’s Bert Auburn.
A 6’0, 160-pounder, Auburn surfaced as a target for new Longhorns special teams coordinator Jeff Banks on Thursday and didn’t need long to make his decision.
Auburn has been a hot commodity in the preferred walk-on market in recent days as programs look to fill out their rosters — Florida State, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech all extended similar offers in recent days.
