The Longhorns landed their 16th commitment for the 2020 class with Shadow Creek’s Xavion Alford. The field safety prospect (who might even be able to play corner or nickel) is a four star prospect and ranked 23rd in the state of Texas.
Alford goes 6-0, 180 and covers ground easily on the back end. While a willing tackler, at this stage of his development he’s a passing game shutdown specialist who was instrumental in leading Shadow Creek to the state title game last year.
Alford’s highlights reveal an instinctive football player who can flip his hips on the run, track the ball in the air and cover a lot of ground against the passing game.
