With the 2018 NBA Draft now in the books after a crazy set of events on June 21, the landscape of the upcoming season now looks a lot different. The Texas Longhorns set the highest first round pick from the basketball program in the 2018 NBA Draft since power forward Tristan Thompson was picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the top five of the 2012 NBA Draft.
That pick that went early in the lottery in the first round was former Texas center Mohamed Bamba, who was selected sixth overall by the Orlando Magic. This is not the best landing spot imaginable out of all the teams picking in the top six, but the Magic is a place that Bamba could succeed.
