The Texas Longhorns may have just wrapped up their 2017 recruiting class on National Signing Day, but Tom Herman & Co. have already been working hard on their 2018 class. Now that they can focus their full attention on that 2018 class, here are the five top prospects they are pursuing:
5) WR Jaylen Waddle
It's essentially a two-team race for Waddle between Texas and Texas A&M, with neither team having an edge. The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder would be the perfect slot receiver in Tom Herman's system, and that's what is being pitched to him.
4) OT Nana Asiedu
Herman offered Asiedu a scholarship a month ago, and the Longhorns have surged up Asiedu's list since then. Many believe that everyone is still chasing Clemson for him, but Texas is leading the second group challenging them.
3) WR Joshua Moore
Charlie Strong offered Moore a scholarship when he attended camp at Texas in June, and Tom Herman has made him a top priority. As such, the Longhorns are currently the leader for the No. 8 wideout in the country.
2) CB Anthony Cook
Texas has been eyeing Cook for the past several years, and find themselves in a tight race with LSU and Baylor to land his services. Herman quickly put him at the top of their list, offering him a scholarship last month. His recruitment will likely be heated throughout.
1) S B.J. Foster
Foster is set to be Tom Herman's first big get at Texas' head coach. The top-ranked safety in the class is still considering other schools, but the Longhorns are such a big favorite that it's hard to imagine him ending up anywhere else.
