National Signing Day is less than a week away, and that means it's time to take a look at where the Texas Longhorns' 2016 recruiting class sits so far. Hint: it's REALLY impressive. Here's our look at Texas' top five commits (so far) for the Class of 2016.
5) CB Eric Cuffee (Waco, TX)
Cuffee's biggest knock is a lack of polish. However, he's got a great motor and does a fantastic job knocking receivers off their route at the line of scrimmage. He's a work in progress, but there's a host of athletic tools here to work with.
4) SDE Andrew Fitzgerald (Flower Mound, TX)
Fitzgerald is a matchup nightmare for opposing offensive linemen given his giant frame and long arms. He's got a very quick first step and a natural knack in the pass rush, and his physical tools (and deceptive speed) project well when it comes to doing damage at the collegiate level.
3) WR Collin Johnson (San Jose, CA)
Johnson is a born playmaker who makes up for a lack of size with speed, elusiveness and the ability to change routes on the fly. Heavily recruited by top FBS programs, he's got enormous upside when it comes to being a potential lead receiver.
2) QB Shane Buechele (Arlington, TX)
He's still developing as a traditional pass rusher, but his vision and agility as a rusher will help him open opportunities in the passing game as opposing front sevens attempt to cut of his running lanes. He's light on his feet in the pocket, and with reps he should be able to match his athleticism with accuracy as a passer.
1) OT Jean Delance (Mesquite, TX)
Delance is a superior athlete to most offensive tackles, using superb footwork and natural strength/size to disrupt run stoppers and pass rushers alike. He's farther along as a pass protection specialist right now, but the raw tools are there for him to become a franchise left tackle for an NFL team in a few years.
