In this Longhorns football news and rumors update, we take a closer look at the Texas Longhorns' pivotal early-season battle with the UCLA Bruins in Arlington on Saturday night.
Game: Texas Longhorns (1-1) vs. #12 UCLA Bruins (2-0)'
When: Saturday, Sept. 13th, 8:00pm EST
Where: AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas
TV: FOX
Matchup of the Game: If the Longhorns' running game is to find success after a dismal showing against BYU last Saturday, Texas' offensive line is going to have to get a lot more push off the line. Getting RBs Johnathan Gray and Malcolm Brown gained just 75 yards on 28 carries against the Cougars, which makes establishing the ground attack that much more crucial against a preseason national title contender like the Bruins.
Three Keys To Consider:
* Although UCLA is favored by 7.5 points heading into this not-exactly neutral site game in Arlington, they haven't looked much better than the Longhorns this season in scraping two victories together against lesser opponents.
* UCLA has given up nine sacks so far in 2014, tied for second-worst in the NCAA.
* Furthermore, UCLA has also given up 21 tackles for a loss on offense - worst in the NCAA. The lesson here? Bring pressure, pressure, and then more pressure.
