Five-star Gladewater (TX) defensive tackle Daylon Mack is in Austin this weekend on an official visit, cancelling a planned trip to Auburn in order to work in a visit to the Texas Longhorns before February 4th's National Signing Day.
Listed as the #14 overall prospect in the country by 247Sports' Composite Rankings, Mack has been weighing his options since decommitting from Texas A&M back on December 19th. At the Under Armour All-America Game, Mack told Horns247 that A&M is out, and that LSU, Texas, and TCU are all programs he's currently interested in.
With the Auburn trip now off, Charlie Strong and recruiter Chris Rumph have a golden opportunity to secure commitments from three top prospects this weekend, with five-star running back Soso Jamabo and four-star wide receiver Demarkus Lodge both visiting the Forty Acres as well.
Mack has officially visited TCU, Texas A&M, and now Texas. He has two more official visits that he can use before he makes his final decision live on ESPN on National Signing Day.
