Four-star QB Tristen Wallace (DeSoto, TX) backed out of his verbal commitment to Texas Tech last week, and while he's still considering Tech and hasn't announced a favorite, it appears that the Texas Longhorns - who gave Wallace an offer last month -are leading the pack.
“I love Texas. It’s a great school, and I really like the coaching staff,” Wallace said, via 247sports. “Texas has a great environment, and I really like what Charlie Strong is doing. He’s turning Texas into an elite program that can get into the College Football Playoff.
"I’ll probably visit Texas in the summer. I’ve already been too Texas too many times. I always go to Texas since my sister is there, so I’ve seen everything plenty of times. I like the campus, and the facilities are second to none.”
Wallace 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, and runs 4.4 40-yard dash speed, which has turned him into the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the country.
“I grew up watching Vince Young, and he reminds me of myself in the sense that we have a similar style,” Wallace said. “I’ve talked to the Texas coaching staff about how they’re going to use me, and I think they can help me be a true dual-threat quarterback.”
