Charlie Strong & co. are on a recruiting roll, and that could continue this week with several more high-profile recruits trending towards the Longhorns. Here's the latest...
Kris Boyd
The four-star CB prospect from Gilmer, TX released his updated top five yesterday, and it sounds very much like Texas is leading the pack. Boyd will visit Baylor on January 23, but most scouts still have him as a near-lock for the Longhorns. Boyd is the #8 CB in the class of 2015, per 247 Sports.
John Burt
A four-star WR from Tallahassee, Burt de-committed from Texas this week, named Auburn as his new favorite, then went on Twitter two days later to say that actually, Texas was still his top choice. It also sounds like his parents both have a different destination in mind - his mother wants Texas, but his father prefers Auburn. Burt will take an official visit to Texas on January 30, and we don't expect a resolution until national signing day.
Carlos Strickland
The four-star WR has officially de-committed from Texas Tech, something we heard was a possibility earlier in the week. The Longhorns are a very possible destination at this point, but UCLA, California and LSU are all in the running as well.
Seven to enroll early
Seven players from the Texas class of 2015 will enroll next Wednesday. DE Quincy Vasser (three-star), OL Tristan Nickelson (JuCo two-star), OL Brandon Hodges (JuCo three-star), OT Connor Williams (three-star), OG Garrett Thomas (three-star), DB Tim Irvin (four-star, nephew of Cowboys star Michael Irvin) and LB Malik Jefferson (five-star, #1 player in the state of Texas) will all start classes in the next week.
