The Texas Longhorns appear to still have a shot at four-star Tallahassee (FL) wide receiver John Burt, despite the fact that he decommitted from the Longhorns just a few days ago.
Burt announced via Twitter on Saturday morning that he will take a visit to Austin on January 30th, seemingly placing the Longhorns right back in the running for his services.
Per Chris Hummer of Longhorn247, "Burt did not give an indication as to whether it would be his official visit, but as has been reported by Horns247 in the past, Burt's official to Texas was supposed to come the final week of January. Burt (Tallahassee, FL) had been committed to Texas since July, but he opened up his recruitment over concerns about the Longhorns' offense and their vacant wide receivers coach job."
The dynamic wideout has been torn between Auburn and Texas, but indicates that Texas is still the leader despite him dropping his verbal pledge. He is also reportedly considering Florida State as an option.
