The Texas Longhorns could be looking to beef up their offensive line for the 2016 season and beyond, with four-star North Mesquite offensive tackle Jean Delance standing as a potential top option at this juncture of the recruiting cycle.
Delance, currently listed as the 15th-ranked offensive tackle in the country, by 247Sports decommitted from Oklahoma last month, opening up the door for Texas Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong and offensive line coach Joe Wickline to put on the full-court press.
"He's not afraid to put some young players on the field," Delance said following a message from Strong on Sunday night. "There's no question of what he can do. No doubt, he's trying to get me to commit. He said he did research on playing freshman, and he has no problem with it."
Delance spoke with Strong via phone on Tuesday night, but neither Delance or Strong have commented on the details of that conversation.
Stay tuned.
