The Texas Longhorns are characteristically cautious about jumping head-first into offering prospect over a year out, which is likely why they haven't offered highly-coveted 2017 La Grange five-star athlete JK Dobbins at this juncture.
Dobbins understands that, but that doesn't mean that he's not itching to get the call from Charlie Strong and the Longhorns.
“I’ve always been a big Texas fan,” Dobbins said, via 247Sports. “My whole family loves Texas too. They’ve been pushing me to go there. But I have to get an offer first. Really, it was my dream school growing up, and it’s still a dream school. I hope I do get the offer.”
La Grange is just one hour outside of Austin, and Dobbins has made it clear that he'd like to stay close to home so his family can watch him play.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pounder is currently ranked as the #2 all-purpose back in the entire Class of 2017, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He already holds offers from Oklahoma, TCU, California, and Arizona State among others.
