The Texas Longhorns are in the market for a new defensive line coach following Chris Rumph's departure for Florida last week. It appears former LSU defensive line coach Brick Haley may be near the top of the list of potential replacements, with Haley "expecting to hear something soon" from Texas coach Charlie Strong regarding the opening.
"It's all positive right now," a source told 247Sports. "It looks good (for Brick). It should be soon."
In addition to the defensive line coaching position, the Longhorns are also looking for someone to fill their vacant tight ends coaching job.
Per Bobby Burton of Horns247, "Gilmer High School coach Jeff Traylor is a primary candidate for the job; he interviewed with Texas earlier this week. Some reports had indicated at the time that Traylor had accepted a position at Texas. However, after leaving Austin, Traylor told those close to him that he would know something this Friday."
