Kevin Shorter is a three-star corner/all-purpose back from Newton, TX who committed to the Texas Longhorns last August. One of Mack Brown's last recruits, Shorter suffered a tragic, career-ending spinal injury in October that put his plans to attend college in limbo.
Even though Brown had stepped down as Texas HC, he used his influence on the program to do something special for Shorter.
Despite the fact that Shorter's commitment to the Longhorns had wavered before his injury (he had reopened his recruiting a few weeks prior), and even though he'll never play a down at Texas, Brown decided that the school would fully honor Shorter's scholarship.
Kevin Shorter has signed with Texas. A real credit to @UT_MackBrown for honoring scholarship offer after his injury.
