In this Longhorns football news update, Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Tyrone Swoopes expects the team to make the College Football Playoff not just in the near future, but this year.
Per Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman, Swoopes was quoted as saying that he "expects to be in the College Football Playoff" regardless of the team's 1-2 start.
Even with head coach Charlie Strong boldly stating that the team "will not be in the national championship game" this year prior to the season, Swoopes remains undeterred.
Such an amazing run to the new final four of college football would require a Herculean effort - victories over top-1o squads Oklahoma and Baylor, along with two losses by the likes of Florida State, Oregon, Alabama, and Auburn.
However, after losing QB David Ash due to his struggles with concussions, it is still refreshing to see Swoopes keeping his aim high with the 2014 season just three games old.
