Texas Longhorns defensive tackle Desmond Jackson announced his intent to return to the team in 2015 via Facebook this week, accompanied by this next picture:
Per Wescott Eberts of SBNation, "Jackson was lost for the season to a liscranc foot injury in the UCLA game that required surgery. At the time, he tweeted out his intentions to return next season. A medical hardship waiver will be necessary, but that shouldn't be hard for Jackson to acquire since he played in fewer than four games and never had a redshirt season."
Prior to his injury, Jackson was the team's starting nose tackle. He has appeared in 41 games with the program during his time in Austin, 16 of those appearances as a starter.
With junior Malcom Brown not likely to come back for his senior season with the Longhorns, Jackson's return will almost certainly allow for sophomore defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway to move back to his more natural position of playing as a three-technique DT rather than working at the nose.
