The Texas Longhorns are one of the hottest teams in the country, winning their last two games over Baylor and Texas Tech. Now, they get ready to play host to another ranked team in West Virginia, and the Longhorns will win yet another game. Here are three reasons why:
3) D'Onta Foreman's greatness
While Texas has been up and down all season, one player who has been dominant all season is running back D'Onta Foreman. He has run for at least 124 yards in every game this season, totaling 1,446 yards and 13 touchdowns on just 206 carries. Over the last two games he has put up historic numbers - 591 yards and five touchdowns! In two games! Given WVU's questionable defense, Foreman will have another huge game.
2) Home-field advantage
Believe it or not, Texas has not lost a true home game this season. Notre Dame, UTEP, Iowa State and Baylor have all fallen victim to Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium, and a ranked West Virginia team met the same fate in 2014, the last time they played in Austin. Expect the home crowd to propel the Longhorns to a victory.
1) More motivated team
West Virginia is playing to try and keep pace with Oklahoma at the top of the Big 12 race. However, the Texas players are even more motivated, doing what they can to try and save head coach Charlie Strong's job.
"I've tried to block out all that talk but every time you turn the TV on, it seems like they're talking about whether Coach Strong is gonna keep his job or not," Foreman told FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman. "But we love him and we want to do everything we can to try and make sure they keep him here."
Since those rumors really began swirling, the Longhorns have raised their level of play. Look for them to keep their hot streak going as they play as hard as they can for Charlie Strong.
