The Texas Longhorns will travel to take on Cal in one of the bigger games of the weekend. Even though they'll be on the road, there are plenty of reasons to believe the Longhorns will keep their undefeated start in tact. Here are three reasons why Texas will beat Cal on Saturday:
3) Cal's bad run defense
Texas' offense has involved more passing than rushing this season, but don't be surprised if the Longhorns try to pound the ball in this one. Cal has one of the worst rush defenses in the country this year, giving up a total of 582 rushing yards in their first two games against Hawaii and San Diego State. Texas has plenty of proven runners in Chris Warren III, D'Onta Foreman and ever quarterback Tyrone Swoopes, so look for the Longhorns to utilize those players early and often.
2) Shane Buechele's growth
This star quarterback just gets better and better with every single drive. He's completing nearly 72 percent of his passes and has turned the ball over just once this year, and last week scorched the air for four touchdown passes. Given the holes in Cal's defense (they're there in the passing game, too), he should be in for another fantastic performance.
1) Belief & momentum
Notice something different about Texas this year? There's a belief that they'll win when they step on the field, they aren't just hoping to win. They have the swagger that they know they're better than you, and they're going to prove it. All of that has created this wave of hype - and even more belief - that this team is destined for big things this year. There's a reason why Texas has already jumped from unranked to No. 11 in the country. The Longhorns are back, and everyone can feel it.
