The #15 Texas A&M Aggies are reeling after a 41-23 defeat at the hands of the #8 Alabama Crimson Tide, but it's time to move forward and address other things going on around the program. With that being said, let's take a look at the team's work on the recruiting trail with our Rumors Roundup For October 18th.
Aggies Officially To Host USC Commit
The USC Trojans program is in a state of upheaval after the firing of Steve Sarkisian, and the chaos in Southern California may very well benefit Texas A&M if they can pull off a flip of four-star Trojans OT commit Frank Martin II.
Texas A&M recruiting coordinator Jeff Banks played football with Martin's father, and that connection could work in A&M's favor when he officially visits College Station in two weeks.
"There's a lot of stuff going on at USC and Coach Banks is a personal family friend so he told me they'd always have a spot for me at Texas A&M and that I was great player and I could make a big impact there," Martin said, via 247Sports. "I've got to get my plan B's going in case something happens with SC.
"I'm interested in the program but I've never been down there. I like how they develop offensive lineman."
Martin is ranked as the #16 offensive tackle in the country, per 247Sports.
Four-Star Target Misses Scheduled Visit
Houston Westside four-star defensive tackle Jordan Elliott planned to be in attendance at the Alabama game this past weekend, but the nation's #94 overall prospect couldn't make it.
"I really wanted to go," the 6-foot-4, 305-pound defender said. "Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it. I couldn't get up there because we had a lot of other stuff going on."
Elliott has taken a visit to Nebraska and has another one scheduled at Michigan. It's unclear as to whether or not he will take a make-up trip to College Station.
