LUBBOCK, Texas – Play opened at the NCAA Lubbock Men’s Golf Regional on Thursday and Texas A&M senior Greg Yates fired an opening-round 69 to hold a share of 13th place.
Playing in the field as an individual, the Mansfield, Texas, native stands just four shots off the pace set by Purdue’s Austin Eoff, who leads the individual standings at six-under par. Yates’ opening round was highlighted by a pair of birdies as well as an eagle on the par-five, 630-yard 17th hole.
Aggie junior Adrià Arnaus is also competing as an individual and shot a one-over 72 on his first turn through Texas Tech’s Rawls Course to sit in a tie for 42nd.
