JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Trayveon Williams knows what kind of toll a bowl game can take on a player’s body.
Last December, the Texas A&M junior running back was knocked out of A&M’s Belk Bowl loss to Wake Forest by a hit he never saw. Williams suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit from behind as he was being tackled. He was flat on his back for a few minutes, arms out to his sides, until he finally got to his feet.
Williams has not said if he plans to forgo his senior year and turn pro. If he did, nobody would fault him for skipping the Gator Bowl after what happened to him last season.
