Big universities, especially in Texas, involve their most exciting traditions with football. Texas A&M's most meaningful tradition has nothing to do with football, or sports for that matter.
From what began as a small gathering of Aggies on June 26, 1883 evolved into an annual, worldwide tradition called "Aggie Muster." Every year since 1903, Aggies from everywhere gather together on April 21.
The largest is currently held in Reed Arena, but Muster also happens in over 300 locations around the world. Following a speaker, a ceremony takes place in which someone calls roll. The names on the list contain the Aggies that have past away since the previous year's ceremony.
