What Jimbo Fisher will be looking for in deciding Texas A&M's most critical position battle heading into 2018 season

COLLEGE STATION -- Jimbo Fisher watched sophomore quarterback Kellen Mond roll to his right, stop, switch directions and fire a short pass down the left side to senior tight end Trevor Wood.

When Fisher doesn't like something a quarterback does, he's quick to let them know. This was not one of those times.

"There ya go, good" Jimbo said during an opening drill of A&M's first practice of the preseason on Thursday.

Fisher watched closely as Mond and sophomore Nick Starkel led the quarterbacks through throwing exercises that encapsulated the key figures surrounding this year's camp: the first-year coach and the two players vying for the starting job.
