The Nielsen Group has compiled some sports rating statistics from the last five years, and some folks in Austin may find the results to be a bit unsettling. It seems that there may be a glitch in the hype-machine that has been quietly whirring away in a basement off of Red River for the last couple decades, and now the sliver in East Texas seems to be growing out of control. The Aggies have officially passed the Longhorns while heading opposite directions in the ratings in Houston since 2010. Numbers out of DFW show a similar trend.
Why look at just the results from the last 5 years when we know for a fact that both programs will continue to grow/shrink at those same rates?
