CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Texas A&M’s Robert Williams didn’t wait until the final minute to unleash his finishing move.
There was no need. By the time Williams leaped into the air with no one around, windmilled his arms and flushed the ball through the rim, the Aggies had all but sealed their spot in the Sweet 16.
Williams’ dunk with more than five minutes left started the celebrations in A&M’s 86-65 victory over 2-seed North Carolina in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The dunk wasn’t as powerful as the one Williams performed at the end of a first-round win over Providence, but it was more meaningful.
