Two Aggies pitchers among players selected in draft

Texas A&M coach Rob Childress has a reputation for recruiting solid pitchers, and that’s evident in this year’s Major League Baseball draft.

A&M junior pitchers A.J. Minter and Grayson Long have both been selected in the draft, with Minter going 75th overall in the second supplemental round to Atlanta and Long 104th overall in the third round to the Angels.

Also, A&M signee Ashe Russell of Indianapolis was taken 21st overall in the first round by Kansas City and signee Beau Burrows of Weatherford was selected 22nd overall in the first round by Detroit. In addition, Nash Walters of Lindale was picked 90th overall in the third round by Milwaukee.
