Trayveon Williams didn't take long to make noise in Texas A&M's opener

COLLEGE STATION -- It only took three plays in Texas A&M's season opener for junior running back Trayveon Williams to make his mark on the season.

On the Aggies' first drive under coach Jimbo Fisher, Williams broke loose for a 73-yard touchdown in the first half of Thursday night's game against Northwestern State.

It was Williams' longest run since an 89-yard run that iced a road win against Auburn during his freshman year. By halftime, the Houston native had already cemented one of the best efforts of his career.

He finished the first half with 18 carries for 180 yards, his best game since last year's season opener against UCLA.
