Here are three quick takeaways from No. 20 Texas A&M’s (24-7, 13-5 SEC) 76-67 victory over Vanderbilt (19-12, 11-7 SEC):
1. Regular season champions of the SEC. For the first time since the 1985-1986 season, the Texas A&M Aggies can call themselves conference champions.
A hot start had hopes high to start the 2015-2016 campaign as the Aggies got off to a quick start of 7-2. Following that stretch was a string of 10 consecutive victories that catapulted head coach Billy Kennedy's squad to a No. 5 ranking in the AP poll. Losses in five of six games brought A&M back down to earth, but it finished strong by winning its final six games to claim the regular season title.
