The kind of player affected by the new recruiting landscape, and how power programs like Texas and Texas A&M benefit

When most of the nation's top players were signing their national letters of intent in December, Katy senior Moro Ojomo was still a relatively unheralded prospect.

But almost as soon as the early signing period started in late December, more schools started looking into the defensive tackle from the Houston-area powerhouse. Before long, representatives from Texas, Oklahoma, A&M and other out-of-state powers were among those angling to sign the 3-star recruit who was uncommitted as of Monday evening.

Ojomo and other similar recruits have benefited from the NCAA rule change that allowed incoming freshmen to sign during a 72-hour window in December instead of the traditional signing period that begins on Wednesday.
